Well, shoot, I'd love nothing more than to show you guys the kind of roads So. Ohio has to offer.

But I don't want the location to be all about me, so if anyone else has a suggestion, please feel free to speak up.

I do like Chris' idea of a long weekend. Maybe plan to meet on a Friday and return to our respective homes on a Sunday or Monday? Or just meet Friday, ride all day Saturday, and part ways Sunday?

How does anyone feel about that? Maybe next year we can plan a bigger event spanning across a few days but this first one, it might be ok, since a lot of interested members have already planned their bike trips for this year.

I'm sure even three or four of us could muster up a good time....

Dates? I like August/Sept., but I know johnd24 said his vacation is over come beginning of August. If we're talking a weekend, I can pretty much do whenever, except for the first weekend in August, which is my son's 2nd b-day party. Twisted siad he'd prefer August/Sept as well I think, but I'm not sure what his wilingness to travel all the way into So. Ohio will be...

Just ideas though, keep 'em coming... 8)

He'd love it! Seeing all those bikes would make his and his little friends' day.

Although the kid is clearly going to be a car nut to start. He likes sitting on my bikes well enough, but nothing gets him more worked up than pointing out cars and trucks to us. "Cah" and "Ruck".

That's how I started out too, though, so clearly he is his father's son!

Southeast Ohio or West Virginia, both have great roads for everyone.

Indeed they do. SE Ohio has some of the best roads in the country, at least for the East Coast. Not quite to the same level as what you'll find in the Smokies (BRP, Deal's Gap, etc.) But definitely rally-worthy.

Plus, we've got our own "mini-dragon" RT. 555, the "Triple Nickel".

Well, at the end of July I'm out for a week, then in Iowa for two weeks in August and another week in September.  So at this point late september early october is the best date, if at all.

I do have places to crash in Kansas, Iowa and Il, so it wouldn't be a straight through run.

I have been reading about some of the SE Ohio roads in RoadRunner magazine. They did a couple of articles about different routes in that area. The roads look really great and hope to get to that area sometime.  As one of the stories stated, its a shame many riders look over the great roads in the Ohio area.

I'd love to come -- I could do either the Sep/Oct weekend or any of the next 3 weekends in October. We should get some real nice fall colors around that time. :)
