Tires

Spring is almost here in Maryland. Want to get a new set of tires. Price and durability are not issues, I just want something stickier than OEM. At the same time, these tires will be for around town and sport touring, they'll never see a race track. Am considering Conti Road Attacks, Conti Sport Attacks or Michelin Power Pilots. Would love your input. Thanks

Pireeli corsa 3s, that what Im gonna have on mine, not durable but should stick like glue hehe.
Triple compound so should wear okay, medium centre soft and softer going out, not cheap but worth it in my opinion.

i've heard good things about the conti road attacks. I plan on getting a set in the next few weeks since all I have left on mine are rubber.....no tread.

Just kidding.

Well, the Pilot Powers you mentioned seem to be the tires to have.
Perfect for your requirements when you have mentioned price and mileage are not issues. From what i gather from the Gixxer.com guys, they last pretty well too!
Another option could be the Metzeler M3?

I plan on getting a pair of Michelin Power Pilots this summer. I heard there good. I've read you'll get about 4000-6000 miles on them. 120/70ZR17-180/55ZR17$250.00 ebay right now. The Pirelli Diablo are good tires too probablly priced around the same.

I have the Pilot Powers and they're great. Obviously a huge improvement over OEM.

OMG I changed to a pilot power 2CT and I will never go back to the bridgestone. They just feel that much better and the 2CT version is supposed to be better for highway travel because it has hard middle and soft outside.

I know I have an ST1100, but figured I would at least input my thoughts on the tires that I'm using. I don't even know if they come in sizes for the Zed, but the Avon Storm ST's on my bike are excellent. In rain or sun, they hold up well.....ok, in downpours too. Great traction on the twisty roads. Haven't felt uneasy on them at all.

Conti Sport Attacks.
Beyond awesome, they're the first tyre I've ever had fitted which work in damp, greasy, slippery conditions.
Personally, I can't get on with any Bridgestone tyre at all. I'm sure they work OK for some, but in greasy conditions I'm tippy-toeing about. With the Conti's, I can chuck the bike about as if the road's dry.
The Conti's also improve the ride quality and give tons of feedback & information about the road you're riding on.

Pilot powers are good. Much better than the bt020 sports touring i had.
I just do riding for fun so i don't need it to last long, priority is stickiness. Once they're warmed they're very confidence inspiring, highly recommend.

re: the Metzlers...I was considering them (they do sound good) but the complete absence of tread on the centre line means that you cannot tell how far the tyre has worn. I've heard tales of people getting down to the carcass before realising that they needed changing!

I've used Bridgestone & Dunlops on all my bikes, but I went with a suggestion from a guy at the shop and bought Metzeler Sportec M3's. These are the best tires I have ever had, seriously, and are worth the extra cost. They heat up fast, ride great in the rain and have excellent turn in. The grip is phenomenal, and I have about 3k on them now and the back tire is probably only half gone, so they last longer than other sport tires if you ask me. Metzeler M3-best tires I have ever used.
