That looks awesome.  I wish we had more choices for exhaust on our side of the pond.

Sweet. $170 shipped doesn't sound to bad.  Had never heard of this company until your post.  Just seems that the short stint the Z had over here, there aren't a lot or resources for it.

Had a look at the site.....proper bargains! Was going to fit a beowulf but now seriously considering one of these. Any issues with fitting or performance?

I bought one of these back in '08 for my 2007 Z750 and I ended up with the wrong link pipe - it mounted the can too low, like on the older models. It looks like they've fixed it since then, or maybe they sent me the wrong one. It was so cheap I couldn't be arsed following it up.

Anyway, I jury-rigged it on to get by while I sourced a more permanent solution. The noise was nice enough, but very loud. I eventually had to replace it with an Ixil so that I could get the decibels under control.

Other problems I encountered or have heard of:

1) The hanger strap ships flat, with the ends bent into tabs. You need to work the body of it into shape before it's of any use. Not difficult, but probably the most time-consuming part of the install.

2) The holes in the hanger strap are too small and need to be drilled out to take the stock bolt.

3) The rubber strap that goes between the hanger and muffler has been known to fail under high temperatures. Some people replace it with more heat-resistant rubber, or silicone matting. I didn't keep the pipe long enough to encounter the problem.

4) For those that are worried about noise levels, Danmoto cans are generally quite loud (although their new JISU model is apparently a bit quieter than the others). There's a separate db-killer available although I've heard it doesn't do much db-killing.

Took the plunge and ordered a JISU can...................£87 delivered !!

Read a review on a z1000 site where a danmoto was tested against a leo vance on a dyno........ no difference! That settled it for me  ;-)

I just got my carbon GP. Man does it sound nice(i will get a video up in a bit). I did over torque the link clamp, so i have a temporary solution.

THe weight reduction is staggering. If you have ever taken the stock can and link off anf felt it you know how heavy it is. The danmoto is 2lbs....

ok i will stock hijaking the thread and start a new one with photos and vid once i get the clamp situation fixed
