wont start
« on: November 27, 2011, 07:36:41 PM »
Well ive been doing some bits to my bike and replaced the clocks with 636 items, bikes a 750s. Now ive come to wire the headlights so need the engine running and here is the problem...

The clocks spin round and FI light goes off, can hear the pump spinning. But it wont start. Makes no noise whatsoever...

Where do I start looking?

Sorted ::)

Bloody wont start if the sidestand is down..if its up it fires quite happily ???

Still, least when funds allow I can get on with the modifications!

If it will start with the sidestand up then the bike thinks it is in gear.

Like lmj301 said, it thinks it is in gear if it will start with the stand up, even if it isn't. Check the stand switch, the connector can be knocked off easily.

Vehicle down sensor Pg.98 part #3 under the tail is the only thing I can think of. Try leaning bike to kickstand side with stand up as if it were on the stand and see if it will duplicate the no start condition.

I've had the faulty side stand switch problem too, bike would start but would cut out when the stand was lowered when in neutral. Fixed itself before I could get a new one and never been a problem since
