Recommended Upgrades
« on: December 08, 2011, 09:47:17 PM »
Hey,
I own a 2005 750. I just purchased a Muzzy's Exhaust which I plan on installing ASAP.
I am seriously considering buying a Metisse Tail Lifter or Possibily a Lowering kit. The tail lift is winning th battle right now.
Anyway, does anyone have any experience with these upgrades.
Also, any other perfermorance upgrades you can recommend for the 750s will be greatly apprecaited.

Ride Safe.

Blue Hot Bodies Double Bubble Windscreen, Muzzys Mid-pipe and Exhaust, Targa Tail Kit, LED front Turn Signals, zx6 Shock... on it way.

Hey dude, get the zx6 shock to raise the tail,a tail tidy, then the usual power commander 3 for power, fit a 14t front sprocket for acceleration. air box mod with k and n filter or pod filters for better breathing, lots of people have changed out there front end for zx6 forks, with that you get better brakes and handling, although I sourced brackets for brembo brakes and upgraded my forks internals. There's loads you can do to the zed, I get almost everything from eBay or eBay international(because I'm a cheap ass)

Also do some searches and read thorugh past posts, there is loads of good info on pretty much everything you'll need to know, and most important, enjoy the zed

So How much does the zx6 shock raise the tail? Also Wouldn't  be better to buy the Tail lift kit.

Think it was about 15 to 20 mm on mine. Was noticeable anyway. I'd try that first as its a better shock than standard and raises the back end so your killing 2 birds with 1 stone. Worth a try and normally loads of them on eBay.

Will that shock fit as a direct replacement or will I have to do some fabrications to make it fit.

It fits direct. All you need to do is remove the rectifier/regulator and fit it the other way around and then reroute the cable because the reservoir on the zx shock will touch it in its normal position. Check the sticky threads and do a search. There is loads of info on here about this swap
