Tail tidy light

I've got a z750 2008 and have ordered a tail tidy ,but it does not include a small light for lighting up registration plate.So I contacted the seller and he says I don't need one because the rear main light will light up the plate.Is he correct and is it legal here in great Britain ?

Pretty sure you need a number plate light for mot. You should phone your local dealer for advice

Billy's right, you need your number plate illuminated seperately and it should be a white light.
